BACOLOR Mayor Jose Mari “Jomar” Hizon said that he is giving Kapampangan voters “an alternative” for the province’s top position as he pursues his bid for the gubernatorial post in the coming May 2019 elections.

“I am not out just to give my fellow Kapampangans an alternative choice, rather give them the best alternative for the position,” Hizon told SunStar Pampanga during an exclusive interview.

Although facing a tough battle against incumbent Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda, Hizon said he is motivated by the warm acceptance of Kabalens after he visited several communities in the province.

“They have been very welcoming of me. I’m not quite sure if it’s true or they are just trying to appease me, but I am very much grateful for their acceptance,” he shared.

And as the campaign season nears, Hizon said he will stand firm with his decision and continue to brave the waves in the name of letting Kapampangan voters truthfully exercise their rights to vote.

“I am fighting. I don’t know if I can make it but I know that this is what I wanted to do, to give Kapampangans a choice. The most important thing is I do not get tired of what I do. And come election day, whether it will be a victory or not, I will respect the voice of the people,” he said.
