GOVERNOR Dennis “Delta” Pineda hopes to bring grassroots social services closer to the people in the various barangays of the province through his 12-point governance agenda which he discussed in detail during the opening of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Monday, July 11.

First on the list of the governor is the planned Rice Complex facility that will help farmers with their rice production as part of his food security program. This will include a warehouse, recirculating dryers, and millers as well as a one-stop shop for the processing of palay from drying to packing.

Pineda said that farmers need all the help they can get amid the soaring oil prices which have an effect on farm inputs and the operation of necessary machinery.

The governor said that his administration will also continue the distribution of augmentation seeds to farmers. Fisherfolks are also set to receive fingerlings as well as necessary farm machinery through the help of local government units.

Pineda also stressed the continuation of fertilizer support for farmers and the continuation of desilting operations on major irrigation systems in Pampanga.
