PAMPANGA Third District Representative Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales, Jr. has filed a House measure that aims to extend the term of office of the president to five years and allowing reelection for another term of five years.

The bill, a day after the inauguration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. also aims to revise the terms of office of senators, congressional representatives and other local officials.

"The clear majority mandate from the Filipino people for President Marcos and Vice President Duterte would be the green light from our citizenry to proceed with the discussion of charter change," he said.

The proposal also aims to restrict the choice of vice president and president during elections with voters having to choose from the same party.
