CONSUMPTION, sale and purchase of alcoholic beverages is banned in Arayat, Pampanga starting January 9 until 15, 2022.

This, after Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino issued over the weekend Executive Order 2, S. 2023, which implemented liquor in the whole municipality.

Alejandrino cited the continuous rise in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in town and the placement of the whole province under Alert Level 3 as the cause of the order.

As of Saturday, January 9, the municipality recorded 10 new Covid-19 cases, which brought the number of active cases to 39.

Meanwhile, Alejandrino said the vaccination program will continue to protect Arayateños from the virus.

He urged residents to get vaccinated or have their booster shots to have an extra layer of protection, especially that the new Omicron variant is already in the country.
