POLICEMEN in Mabalacat City, Pampanga have underscored the essence of social responsibility by helping other people especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

local police recently donated sacks of rice, groceries, toiletries and school supplies at the Duyan Ni Maria Children's Home in Barangay Dapdap.

Lieutenant Colonel Soledad Elefanio, city police head, said this is part of their outreach program.

"As law enforcers, we have a social responsibility to share blessings and help those who are in need," Elefanio said.

She also urged the private sector and businessmen in the city to lend a helping hand to the needy.

"We also appeal to all kind-hearted and well-meaning kababayans to help provide for the less fortunate or most vulnerable sectors in the community in order to sustain our Barangayanihan [project] in Mabalacat City," he said.

During their visit, local cops implemented minimum health protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Mayor Cris Garbo lauded the city police under Elefanio's leadership for helping the community, especially during these hard times.
