MABALACAT CITY -- The City Government led by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo hosted a feeding program for elementary students here.

More than 1,680 elementary students from Duquit Elementary School and Pila Elementary School benefited from the weekly feeding program of the city government.

The weekly feeding program aims to provide healthy foods for nutritional-deficient children.

Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino, Councilor Jun Castro and City Health Officer Dr. Claire Aquino attended the feeding program.

In his message, Aquino stressed the importance of elimination of malnutrition among students.

"When our children consume nutritious food, they can have a sound mind that will make them better in school," Aquino said in the local language.

Also present during the feeding program were Rural Health Unit 2 head Dr. Freddie Anunciacion, City Social Welfare and Development Office chief Carlo Costales, Nutrition Action Officer Gladys Lingat, Public Market Office head Ryan Mendiola, City Assessor's Office head Soch Valerio, other local officials, volunteers and MCG medical teams.

Parents and teachers of the two schools thanked the Garbo administration and other city officials for implementing the feeding program all over the city.
