THE Mabalacat City Government has recorded five new Covid-19 cases, as of October 14, 2020.

The new patients are among the 65 direct contacts of persons who tested positive for the coronavirus a few weeks ago.

The patients placed under isolation are from Barangays Bical (1), Camachiles (1) and Dau (3).

The City Health Office reported a total of 424 Covid-19 cases. Of this figure, 142 are active cases, 281 are recovered patients and one death case.

The local government, under the leadership of Mayor Cris Garbo, asked residents to cooperate and unite in the fight against the virus.

"Magkaisa at magtulungan po tayong lahat na labanan ang Covid-19," the local government unit said.

Garbo said the local government is monitoring a call center, which contributed to the spike of Covid-19 cases in the city.

He also urged the people living in the city to practice social distancing, wearing face shields and other health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
