MABALACAT CITY -- The local government unit here is set to install 175 closed circuit television (CCTVs) cameras that will cover all of its 27 barangays.

Mayor Cris Garbo said this is part of the City Government's command center project that will get a funding of P90 million.

"Kumpleto po yun, may CCTV. Kung nakita niyo na po yung kay Governor Delta, ganon na ganon po yung gagawin namin dito [sa Mabalacat]," the mayor said.

"Mako-cover po lahat ng mga barangay and even yung outskirts ng city," he added.

With the project, the local government may monitor incidents and accidents along the busy MacArthur Highway, according to Garbo.

The proponent of the project, ITB Corporation, is a Kapampangan, the local chief executive said.

"High-grade yan talaga, makikita mo talaga pati yung identity ng tao kasi may facial recognition. Even yung how many meters yung mga plate number ng mga sasakyan makikita mo rin," Garbo said.
