Magalang town logs 2 new Covid-19 cases

MAGALANG -- The local government unit (LGU) has recorded two new cases of Covid-19, as of September 16, 2020.

The new cases have brought the total number of coronavirus infections in the town to 40.

Patient M39 is a 36-year-old woman from Barangay San Francisco working outside the town. She is an asymptomatic patient and set to be transferred to the Asean Convention Center in Clark Freeport for quarantine.

Patient M40, on the other hand, is a 40-year-old lady resident in Barangay Santa Cruz also working outside the municipality.

The asymptomatic patient is also set to be taken to the Asean Convention Center.

Mayor Romy Pecson ordered for the immediate contact tracing of the two patients.

The Municipal Health Office stated Patient 39 has six family close contacts who are now under quarantine.

Patient M40, on the other hand, had nine family contacts who were also placed under home quarantine.

The patients' relatives will receive assistance from the local government, according to the mayor.

Pecson urged his constituents to avoid public places and observe health protocols.
