PRESIDENTIAL Assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino and Senator Bong Go turned over on Tuesday, February 18, a check amounting P4 million to the Malasakit Center at Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH).

"This amount, intended for financial assistance to indigent patients, is replenishable every month," Dino said.

"Malasakit Center at the JBLMGH already served more than 5,000 patients with more than P40 million worth of assistance provided since it was established in October 2018," Go said.

Types of assistance provided include hospital bill, implants, vaccine, CT scan, dialysis, laboratory and physical therapy.

Meanwhile, Go expressed his commitment to work for the welfare of barangay officials as he keynoted the Barangay Officials Forum on Peace, Security and Safety held Tuesday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in the City of San Fernando.

"The extension of the present term of barangay officials until 2022 seeks to give sufficient time to incumbents to do more for the benefit of their constituencies," he said.

He urged barangay officials to capitalize on their extended term to deliver more in fulfilling their responsibilities. (PIA)
