FLORIDABLANCA Mayor Darwin Manalansan has placed the whole Basa Airbase under 14-day community quarantine after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that an individual from the base community came out positive for coronavirus infection.

Manalansan issued Executive Order No. 28 on May 16 placing the airbase under quarantine, which is essentially a lockdown, until May 29.

Movement of people to and from the airbase has been prohibited except for people involved in the delivery of essential goods and services as well as people authorized by the Philippine Airforce.

The mayor also tasked the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management office of the town to take charge of provisions and medical services for people within the airbase community.

The Philippine National Police and the Philippine Airforce have been tasked to address the monitoring and surveillance of people within the community during the quarantine period.

Manalansan’s order comes amid the ongoing modified enhanced community quarantine in Pampanga.
