THE local government of Minalin is operating with a skeletal workforce for the whole week starting Monday, January 25, 2021.

Mayor Edgar Flores made the announcement following the continuous surge in confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the town.

As of Sunday, January 24, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases reached 146, with 44 of which recorded since the start of year alone.

Flores said the move is part of the precautionary measure against the continuous spread of the deadly disease.

Offices that are in full workforce only include the Office of the Mayor, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Medical Assistance Team, and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.

All other offices will be following a work-from-home setup, but Flores assured that delivery of public service will not be hampered.

The mayor also assured that the local government, through its Municipal Health Office, local police and firemen, is conducting all measures to contain the virus immediately.

He asked for the cooperation of residents through their strict observance of minimum health standards.
