AFTER almost four months since it first registered its first case, the municipality of Minalin in Pampanga now has zero active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases.

Mayor Edgar Flores announced through his Facebook account on Monday, October 19, the last patient to have tested positive for the virus was finally discharged from the isolation facility.

In its battle against the disease, the mayor said the municipality has recorded a total of 59 Covid-19 cases, in which 55 recovered and four passed away.

Flores expressed gratitude to all frontliners including health workers, police and firemen, barangay officials and disinfectors for never wavering in the battle and ensuring the safety of Minaleños, both those who were infected and not.

"We thank God for this bountiful mercy and salute all our frontliners who risked their lives to protect the many," he said.

The mayor asked his constituents not to put their guards down yet as the fight against Covid-19 is far from over.

He reminded them to continue observing health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands regularly and practicing social distancing to avoid being infected by the virus.

"Let us protect ourselves, our families and our municipality from Covid-19," he said.
