MASANTOL -- Residents may soon have a sanctuary for reading as the local government is building the Municipal Library which will soon be open to the public.

The said facility is being constructed at the premises of Masantol High School in Barangay San Nicolas, about 100 meters away from the Municipal Hall.

Mayor Danilo Guintu, who recently inspected the ongoing construction activity, said the Municipal Library is aimed at providing a decent space for reading for every Masantoleño and interested Kapampangans.

It will also be an area where important books about the town’s history, culture and heritage will be stored and preserved for the easy access of public, he added.

"In this way, our Masantoleño youth and even tourists who wanted to know the roots of our town will not have a hard time looking for that information as it will be available here at our Municipal Library," the mayor said.

Guintu added that the construction is expected to be finished by the first quarter of 2020.
