New 934 Covid-19 cases bring Central Luzon’s total to 59,190

CORONAVIRUS confirmed cases in Central Luzon have again breached the 59,000 mark overnight, as 945 new active cases were reported from different provinces of the region, bringing the total to 59,190.

According to the April 7 bulletin, total active cases in the region are now at 24.8 percent, representing 14,685 cases.

Most of the new cases came from Bulacan (378 new active), Pampanga (185), Nueva Ecija (148) and Bataan (109).

Sixty-seven new cases were also reported in Angeles City alone, contributing to the rise in regional numbers.

Majority of the active cases display moderate symptoms with 14,556 reported as such, along with 40 moderate cases, 49 severe and 18 critical cases. Only 22 are asymptomatic.

Covid-19 deaths in Central Luzon have also increased to 1,030 cases, with the regional mortality rate at 1.7 percent.

Olongapo City and Pampanga are still the area areas with the highest fatality rate at 2.41 and 2.32 percent, respectively.

The Department of Health said that 43,475 of the confirmed Covid-19 cases in the region have since recovered.
