CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Jeepneys plying routes in this capital city will not be joining the nationwide transport strike dubbed " Tigil Pasada" set on March 6 to 12.

This was announced by the city transport groups yesterday noon through the City Information Office Facebook page.

Federation of Jeepney Drivers at Operators (FEDJODA) - City of San Fernando President Albert Garcia assured Mayor Vilma Caluag that their group will not be joining the week-long protest.

The nationwide transport strike was set by various drivers' groups to contest the impending phaseout of traditional jeepneys.

Caluag thanked FEDJODA San Fernando for prioritizing the needs of commuters.

The mayor also assured Fernandinos of the preparatory measures being done by the city government to minimize the effect of transport strike.

She said service vehicles are set for deployment to ferry transport workers and students going to other municipalities and Angeles City.
