THE Air Force, Army and Naval units under the Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and Cordillera currently provide the needed logistical support in the fight against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

“We are working together with local government units and members of the Inter-Agency Task Force including Department of Health, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection in implementing the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ),” NOLCOM Commander LtGen Ramiro Manuel Rey said.

Soldiers provide support to PNP in manning checkpoints to ensure the orderliness in the communities and safety of residents within its area of responsibility.

“NOLCOM is open for anyone who needs help amidst Covid-19 outbreak, we are doing our best to ensure that safety and wellbeing of the people are taken care of. The Filipinos are our top priority but we cannot end this fight alone, we are asking for your cooperation and obedience so that we could wipe off Covid-19 in our country as soon as possible,” Rey emphasized.

ECQ, meant to curb the rising number of cases of Covid-19, will be implemented in the entire Luzon from March 17 to April 13. (PIA-Central Luzon)
