IT IS another first for Guagua, as its P10 million worth Pampanga Training Center (PTC) in Barangay San Rafael was formally awarded its Certificate of Technical Education and Training Program Registration (CTPR) on Wednesday, October 9.

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) representative Florencio Sunico Jr. formally awarded the CTPR. Mayor Dante Torres received it on behalf of the Guagua Municipal Government.

The PTC is the first of its kind in Pampanga. Funding for the project was sourced from congressional budget.

Tesda and the Municipal Government of Guagua are set to sign a memorandum of agreement on the usufruct agreement on the operation of the PTC in which Tesda will utilize the said facility as launching pad for its various training programs in the area.

CTPR was issued by Tesda to certify that the training that will be provided by the facility is within the core competency and regulation of the agency.

Torres said the full operation of the PTC in Guagua town will enable the training of more skilled manpower for the various industries within the town and the province.

He said the PTC is a timely response to the current status of Guagua as among the highly competitive towns of Pampanga.

"We need more man power training. More skills training means more skilled workers ready for employment," Torres said.
