CLARK FREEPORT -- Some P1.6 million worth of sex-enhancing drugs were intercepted at the Clark International Airport by joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark shortly after the parcel pass through the x-ray division area.

BOC Port of Clark District Collector Ruby Alameda said the parcel carrying three plastic bags of illegal drugs was concealed in an Air Humidifier box consigned to a certain Monica Santos of Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.

The shipment was declared as a massage oil and pet foods by the shipper, Reship.com, believed to be an online seller from the United Kingdom.

The contraband was shipped via air courier to Clark International Airport on August 30.

It was found out to be carrying prohibited substances when checked by BOC examiners assigned at the airport.

PDEA-Pampanga agents immediately launched a "controlled delivery" operation after it confirmed that the parcel is carrying close to 1,000 tablets of multicolored party drugs inserted inside the box.

PDEA agents and BOC police disguised as delivery men of a courier firm and tracked the consignee address, but nobody came forward to pick-up the package.

"The occupants of the apartment seemed to have abandoned the place as nobody showed up despite repeated calls," PDEA said.

PDEA said it waited for another week hoping that someone will come forward to claim the package.

"When nobody show-up to pick-up the parcel, BOC Port of Clark decided to turn over the illegal drugs to PDEA", said Alameda, adding that seizure of party drugs is a group effort between Customs and PDEA personnel.

Alameda warned shippers of contraband to stop sending unlawful substances to the Philippines as they will not succeed because of the modern equipment and vigilance of examiners in the field.
