PamCham lauds government for launching peace and concern office

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham) lauded the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon headed by Police Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia and Presidential Peace Adviser and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) for Central Luzon Carlito Galvez Jr., for proactively launching the Joint Industrial Peace and Concern Office (Jipco) in Central Luzon.

PamCham President Romero said that PamCham is fully supportive of Jipco’s objective of forging and fortifying the tri-Partisan alliance and convergence of actions by the government, the industries and business sector and the workers, against radical infiltration of the labor force and the industrial zones.

“The business sector acknowledges that the maintenance of harmonious and peaceful relations between industries and the labor force is crucial to the province’s development. A mere inkling of insurgency or unrest in the workforce, especially if instigated by communist agitators, will certainly be inimical to the growth momentum of Pampanga and will dissuade investments in the countryside,” he said.

Romero furthered that PamCham recognizes that unscrupulous business practices and reprehensible abuse of labor’s rights and privileges by employers will likewise sabotage the provincial economy. “It makes perfect sense therefore, for the three sectors of society to come together, converge and collaborate efforts to obviate any and all threats to industrial peace and countryside economic development.”

“Jipco is a commendable initiative and we are always willing and able to contribute to the fulfillment of Jipco’s objective, which is to insulate industries and protect the labor force from the “ongoing massive infiltration of the communist front organizations,” he said. (JTD)
