Pampanga farmers receive P58M worth of machinery

THE Department of Agriculture (DA) in Central Luzon had awarded certificates of intervention to various farmer cooperatives in the City of San Fernando, paving the way for some P58 million worth of farm machinery in a bid to mechanize local agricultural production.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar, together with Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, led the awarding or the certificates on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, under the Rice Competitiveness Fund-Mechanization Component.

A total of 40 farmers' cooperatives and associations (FCAs) from Pampanga will receive 59 units of farm machineries and equipment valued at P58 million.

The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization targets to distribute 13 four-wheel tractor, 24 hand tractor, one precision seeder, two riding type transplanter, six rice combine harvester, one mobile rice mill, one single pass rice mill, three multi stage rice mill, two seed cleaner, five mechanical weeder, and one Shallow Tube Well.
