GOVERNOR Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda met with persons with disabilities (PWDs) of the province as well as scavengers and other marginalized sectors at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here on Monday.

The event was part of the Capitol's continuing effort to extend support to marginalized groups through programs and dialogue to address their needs.

The governor assured the continuing support for PWDs and their dependents through social programs and assistance.

Last year, beneficiaries who are elementary and high school students and children of parents with disabilities received P2,500 each. At least 450 of them came from the first district, 430 from the second district, 715 from the third district, and 380 from the fourth district.

Governor Pineda said PWDs can now enjoy more perks from the government at par with the perks granted to senior citizens.

She said the provincial government is always ready to support them not only in their education but also in their livelihood and other services beneficial to them.

She also encouraged the beneficiaries to attend trainings offered by the government to prepare them for future employment opportunities.
