Porac Covid-19 cases climb to 8; mayor urges more vigilance

PORAC Mayor Jaime Capil reported on Thursday, July 30, three new coronavirus cases in the town, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to eight, with at least three cases currently active.

Capil told SunStar Pampanga that the new active cases include one close contact of the employee of the Pampanga 2 Electric Cooperative in Barangay Manibaug Paralaya.

The results of the close contact came out on Thursday and the patient had been assigned to a health care facility.

The mayor said that another case include one medical frontliner from Angeles City.

Capil also announced that the four close contacts, mostly relatives, of the said patient have all tested negative.

"We are urging our residents here to observe the minimum safety requirements to prevent the further spread of the virus," Capil said.

Since the start of the pandemic, this town had recorded eight confirmed cases, four of which have already recovered while one have died.

Porac has one of the lowest infection rates in Pampanga and has the lowest recorded cases in the towns of the second district.
