PRO-Central Luzon celebrates 120th police service anniversary

THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cetral Luzon on Monday, October 4, 2021, held its 120th Police Service Anniversary with Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as the guest of honor and speaker and Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando as the keynote speaker.

The program was conducted at the PRO-Central Luzon grandstand, wherein health protocols were observed, said Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon, PRO-Central Luzon director.

De Leon said the 120th Police Anniversary themed “Hangad na Kalinisan sa Kapulisan, Kapaligiran at Komunidad; Ibayong Gampanan para sa Pangkapulisang Integridad” aptly manifests the Philippine National Police and PRO-Central Luzon’s continuing partnership for sustained proficiency and excellence in law enforcement towards a stable peace and order particularly in Central Luzon.

Fernando said for the longest time, the PNP has been a lasting partner of the government for peace, prosperity and security. He said despite many criticisms and backlashes, the organization remains steadfast in fulfilling its mandated tasks of serving and protecting the communities.

Duterte-Carpio, in her message read by De leon, lauded the men and women of PRO-Central Luzon for continuously doing their jobs efficiently.

Duterte-Carpio said all PNP personnel should reaffirm their commitment to police service and should keep on serving the Filipino people with unfaltering perseverance and devotion.

Among the individual awardees were: Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) for Administration - Colonel Rommel Velasco; Best Senior PCO for Operations - Colonel Lawrence Cajipe; Best Junior PCO for Administration - Major Mark Louie Sigua; Best Junior PCO for Operations Maor Aris Gonzales; Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) for Administration - Senior Master Sergeant Jewelle Rivera; Best Senior PNCO for Operations - Chief Master Sergeant Abraham Ancheta; Best Junior PNCO for Administration; Staff Sergeant Mary Joy C Fernandez; Best Junior PNCO for Operations- Corporal Miriam L Lapurga; Best Non-Uniform Personnel (NUP) (Supervisory Level)- NUP Marie Flor A De Guzman and Best NUP (Non-Supervisory Level) - NUP Ayla Joy DC Dela Cruz.

Most of the awarded police officers were members of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) ‘’Kaagapay”’ Class of 1996.

Meanwhile, the following units were also awarded: Best Police Provincial Office (PPO)- Pampanga PPO; Best City Police Office (CPO) - Olongapo CPO; Best Component City Police Station (CPO) – San Fernando CPS, Pampanga PPO;Best Municipal Police Station - Mariveles MPS, Bataan PPO; Best City Police Station- Station 1, Olongapo CPO; Best Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) - 2nd PMFC, Pampanga PPO and Best City Mobile Force Company (CMFC), Olongapo CPO.

Also given special recognition were Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and other PRO-Central Luzon Command Group and Staff to include Police Colonel Alan Manibog, former chief, Regional Operations Division, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Soledad L. Elefanio, chief of Regional Public Information Office-Central Luzon. (Ric Sapnu)
