THE City of San Fernando's Local Development Council (LDC) has kept socio-economic recovery and rehabilitation efforts as top priorities in its Annual Investment Program (AIP) for 2022.

During its first meeting on April 22, the LDC approved to endorse to the Sangguniang Panlungsod the 2022 AIP programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) amounting to P7,723,722,000.

About 86 percent of the total proposed amount will go to economic services at P3,320,837,000 and social services with P3,307,537,000.

The remaining 14 percent or P1,095,348,000 will be allocated for the general public services, which include PPAs related to administration, governance and frontline services, among others.

As with previous years, the proposed AIP 2022 consists of PPAs that are aligned with the City’s mission and vision.

Aside from facilitating economic growth, generating employment and livelihood, and promoting the general welfare and well-being of Fernandinos, the proposed PPAs were also formulated in line with the City’s overarching goal of smart and sustainable development.

Rizzel Mangilit, City Budget Officer-in-charge, also laid out the reversion of the 2021 20-percent Local Development Fund of P12,900,816.52 which will be used to fund projects that are “necessary, appropriate, or incidental” to efficient and effective local governance as provided in the Joint Memorandum (JMC) No 2020-1 released by the Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Budget Management.

LDC Chairperson Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago thanked the council members for their untiring support from the formulation to the implementation of the City’s development projects.

He also enjoined all members to help one another in determining relevant PPAs that would sustain and support the City’s socio-economic growth, with emphasis on environmental viability. (PR)
