EXEMPLARY teachers and school heads in Central Luzon are set to be recognized in this year's 2019 Regional Search for Outstanding Teachers and School Heads by the Department of Education (DepEd).

DepEd Regional Director Nicolas Capulong told reporters that the award aims to give special recognition to teachers and school heads who manifest profound commitment, exemplary competence, and remarkable dedication to their work.

Capulong noted that teaching requires enormous sacrifice on the part of the teacher stressing the need for the right kind of attitude to be able to teach and perform well as an educator.

Capulong added that the award's search highlights the best attitude, performance as well commitment of teachers and school heads.

Categories for this year's search include Outstanding Kindergarten Teachers, Oustanding Elementary Teachers, Outstanding Secondary Teachers, Outstanding Elementary School Heads, Outstanding Secondary School Heads, and Outstanding School Heads of Integrated Schools.

The awards search runs inline with the celebration of the 2019 National Teachers Month which runs with the theme Gurong Pilipino: Handa sa Makabagong Pagbabago.

The celebration of the National Teachers month is mandated by Presidential Proclamation No. 242. This year's celebration will run from September 5 to October 5.

According to the DepEd, the celebration aims to honor those who are in the teaching profession. This also aims to acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service, and dedicated commitment of teachers in developing globally-minded citizens, nurturing families, strengthening communities and building the nation.
