STA. Rita Mayor Ferdinand Salalila issued Executive Order No. 30-2021 that effectively closed the town’s municipal building from Friday, September 17 to Monday, September 20, as a precautionary measure “to slow down the incidence” of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases.

The measure also paves the way for the decontamination of the municipal building.

The mayor also ordered municipal hall employees to stay at home during the said period and not to go out except for essential and emergency purposes.

There are currently active coronavirus cases in eight of the 10 barangays of the town. Active cases are currently at 14.

Total confirmed cases currently stand at 825 with 661 recoveries.

Some 62 people have died from the virus in Santa Rita since the start of the pandemic.

On September 16 alone, two people died of the virus in Barangays Becuran and San Basilio.
