Suspect in slaying of Taiwanese surrenders

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- The alleged suspect in the murder of a Taiwanese national in Marilao, Bulacan on October 29 voluntarily surrendered to police authorities on Thursday, October 31.

Brigadier General Leonardo Cesneros, officer-in-charge of Police Regional Office-Central Luzon, identified the suspect as Ralph John Aron Marcos, a resident of Barangay Loma de Gato, Marilao, Bulacan.

Authorities said the suspect stabbed to death Hsuan Hsueh, alias Peter Lee, 68, a Taiwanese national and a resident of Barangay Loma de Gato.

In a press conference on Thursday, Cesneros said the body of the victim was discovered by his friend Hsien Chung-Tse, also a Taiwanese national, inside the IGC Industrial Compound warehouse of the said barangay.

Based on the closed-circuit television camera footage on the accounts of witnesses, the suspect entered the warehouse at 1 a.m. Thursday and stabbed the victim to death.

The knife used by the suspect was recovered by the Scene of the Crime Operatives Team of Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office in the crime scene, while his pants with blood stains was later recovered in the suspect’s residence.

While the Marilao police was conducting further investigation, the suspect together with his parents voluntarily surrendered to Mayor Ricky Sylvestre of Marilao, Bulacan.
