Tarlac Capitol offers loan program to support barangay talipapa

Sunnexdesk

THE Provincial Government of Tarlac is offering an interest-free loan program for barangays through the modified version of the Barangay Microfinance Program to establish their own community markets.

Governor Susan Yap said barangays with neither an existing loan under the program nor a “talipapa” can apply for a loan amounting to PhP20,000 starting April 1 until October 31.

Yap furthered that barangay talipapa will help in preventing the spread of Covid-19 as it will limit Tarlaqueños from going to the public markets.

Punong barangays who want to avail the loan package may contact the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO).

“The loan amount is to be used in the establishment of a barangay talipapa to ensure daily food supply for barangay folks at affordable price as set by the Department of Trade and Industry. Physical and social distancing will be strictly observed once the talipapa has been established,” PCEDO Head Marvi dela Cruz said.

Interest applicants may contact 0998-846-1409, 0912-374-4607, 0966-371-4696, 0927-837-0758 and 0917-485-5389 or visit the PCEDO office. (PIA-Central Luzon)
