Tulio is new Soroptimist Guagua prexy

GUAGUA -- Health projects for poor women and girls will be the priority of Divine Tulio, the incoming president of the Guagua chapter of Soroptimist International.

“I know I am standing on the shoulders of past presidents so I confidently accepted the presidency,” Tulio said.

She said raising funds for the health projects and implementing these with partner organizations are challenging tasks amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“What is important is that we are united in making a difference in the lives of marginalized women and girls in Guagua,” Tulio explained.

Soroptimist is an international organization for business and professional women who volunteer their time, talents and resources to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.

Tulio has worked at the Guagua Water District for 26 years, served as a municipal councilor for one term and ran as mayor. She also served as president of Quota International and Circulo Fernandino. She established the JDT Foundation for Cancer Victims after her eldest son Jerome died, continuing also his charities. She is currently a director of the Guagua Water District.
