TOP legislative officials of the City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur visited the Heroes Hall in the City of San Fernando on April 20, 2022 to benchmark San Fernando’s best practices on pandemic response and rehabilitation, and solid waste management that were backed-up by legislations.

Vigan City Vice Mayor Lourdes Baquiran headed the delegation that conducted an “immersion tour.”

Mayor Edwin Santiago warmly welcomed the visitors. Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin was represented by City Council Secretary Avelina Lagman. Other department heads joined the welcoming party.

“Naging makabuluhan ang naging diskusyon natin sa mga opisyal at department heads ng pamahalaan [CSF-LGU] kung saan ang mga tanong natin tungkol sa mga programa ng Siyudad ay kanilang nasagot. We’ve seen that San Fernando is one the LGUs with effective, efficient, and innovative programs in the country,” said Baquiran.

In response, Lagman said the City is “honored by the benchmarking where they were able to showcase to them what the City has done during the pandemic and its solid waste management program.”

“This venue hosts a better exchange of practices among LGUs. Tayo ay nagpaplano rin na bumisita sa Vigan City upang makita rin natin ang kanilang best practices,” she said.
