Porac hosts national drone racing tilt

THE local government of Porac hosted the recently concluded national drone racing competition in the town.

Porac town led by Mayor Jaime "Jing" Capil hosted FPV Philippines Drone Race 2 + Freestyle Competition Year-End Competition BMain Category held at RL Resort and Leisure Park from December 11 to 12, 2021.

“We were looking for a place to fly, and the Municipality of Porac and RL Resort gladly accommodated us," FPV Philippines Director Greg Villaver said.

At least 22 participants from different cities and towns across the country joined the drone racing event.

Poraqueño participant Irvin Kentor Canlas bagged the championship award in the BMain category.

Porac Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil thanked FPV Philippines for choosing his town to host the drone race.

Capil said his administration is keen on developing the town’s sports and eco-tourism industries by hosting similar events and promoting natural tourist spots like hot springs found in Porac.

Capil thanked Municipal Tourism Officer-in-Charge Gem Marimla and RL Resort and Leisure Park owner Francis Dizon for their contributions to the success of the event.

Also present during the drone racing events were Councilor and Vice Mayor candidate Francis "Budoy" Tamayo, Mayor Capil's Private Legal Adviser lawyer Shereen Olivia Sian, Capil's Private Secretary Robert Canlas, Public Order and Safety Office Head Arwin Gomez, and other municipal tourism staff.
