Sa pakighinabi sa mga tigbalita sakay sa ayroplano paingon sa Brussels, Belgium aron motambong sa Commemorative Summit sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations ug European Union, si Marcos nipadayag og pagsalig nga ang pagtukod og sovereign wealth fund (SWF) makaayo sa nasod.

Giangkon niya nga siya ang nagdala niini aron adunay dugang tinubdan sa puhunan ang nasud.

“For sure (it will be beneficial for the country). I wouldn’t have brought it up otherwise,” matud ni Marcos.

Niadtong Nobiyembre, si House Speaker Martin Romualdez, ig-agaw ni Marcos, nisang-at sa House Bill 6398 nga nagtinguha sa pagmugna sa SWF, nga nag-ingon nga kini mopadako sa ganansya sa mga kabtangan sa gobiyerno alang sa kaayohan sa tanang Pilipino.

Ubos sa balaudnon, ang pundo, nga ipuhunan sa real estate ug financial assets, maggikan sa mga kontribusyon gikan sa Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Social Security System (SSS), Land Bank of the Philippines (Land Bank), ug Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

Gisunod kini sa mga SWF sa 49 ka mga nasud, lakip ang Singapore, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, ug East Timor.

Si Romualdez niingon nga ang balaudnon gitumong aron pagkab-ot sa mga tumong sa Agenda for Prosperity ug sa walo ka mga punto nga socioeconomic roadmap ni Marcos.

“Sovereign wealth funds are state-owned investment funds typically financed by a country’s surplus revenues or reserves. Governments invest these funds in an array of both real and financial assets to stabilize national budgets, create savings for their citizens, or promote economic development,” matud ni Romualdez.

Niadtong Disyembre 1, giaprobahan sa House Committee on Banks and Financial Intermediaries ang lakang.
