1 dead in Leyte road mishap

A 32-YEAR-OLD barangay tanod was killed after the motorcycle he was driving was accidentally hit by two other vehicles in Barangay Campetic, Palo, Leyte Tuesday morning, May 11, 2021.

Police identified the victim as Catalino Santos, a resident of the said barangay.

Initial investigation disclosed the victim, who was coming from St. Scholastica’s Subdivision in Palo, was about to cross the road when he was hit by a Suzuki Celerio and subsequently bumped by another sports utility vehicle.

The victim was rushed to the Leyte Provincial Hospital in Palo but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Estelito Troyo, the attending physician.

The drivers of the two other vehicles were unharmed, according to the police.

They were brought to Palo Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

Authorities are investigating the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
