2 brothers yield 'shabu'

AUTHORITIES seized shabu from two brothers at Barangay San Rafael, Maasin City, Southern Leyte Friday evening, September 23, 2022.

Joint police operatives allegedly found five pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and other items in the possession of Emmanuel Melano Genol, 38, and Adolfo Melano Genol, 36, during the buy-bust operation.

The two brothers, who are listed as street-level individuals on the watchlist, are residents of Barangay Abgao, Maasin, according to the police.

Elements of Regional and Southern Leyte Provincial Drug Units, 1st and 2nd Southern Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Maasin City Police Station also held an inventory of confiscated items at the scene in the presence of witnesses, barangay officials, and representatives from National Prosecution Service (NPS) and media.

The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
