2 dead, 2 injured in Calbayog robbery

AT LEAST two persons were killed and two others were injured after unidentified men robbed a sari-sari store in Calbayog City over the weekend.

Police identified the fatalities as Jeffrey Floralde, 33, and Bernadetha Capistrano, 46.

Wounded were Jomar Dumapit, 33, and an 11-year-old minor.

In an initial investigation, Floralde and the 11-year-old minor were inside the sari-sari store when more or less 12 men barged in, declared a hold-up, and shot the victims several times before carting away around P40,000.

The incident happened around 5:50 p.m. of August 9, 2020 in Barangay Obo-ob, Oquendo District in Calbayog.

The robbers also fired their guns to the other two victims -- Capistrano and Dumapit -- who were outside the store during the incident.

Police are investigating the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
