2 dead, 2 wounded in Eastern Visayas

AT LEAST two people were dead while two others were injured in separate shooting incidents in Eastern Visayas days before the May 9, 2022 elections.

In Calbayog City, police identified the victim as Abundio Pamad, 43, and a resident of P-3, Barangay Payahan.

The victim was driving on his way home on board a single motorcycle on May 6, when upon reaching his barangay, he was shot to death by two still unidentified suspects.

On May 7, another 43-year-old man was shot and killed in Sitio Sonlogon, Barangay Campokpok, Tabango, Leyte.

The victim was identified as Dave Damayo, a supporter of a mayoral candidate and resident of the said town.

Authorities said the victim was resting inside his vehicle along the roadside of Sitio Sonlogon when a group of armed men on board various vehicles opened fire on his vehicle, which resulted in his instantaneous death.

In San Isidro, Leyte, police said two persons were also shot by unidentified assailants while they were on board a single motorcycle from Tabango, Leyte bound to Barangay Basud, San Isidro.

The victims were identified as Ramel Lorco, 39, and a 15-year-old farmer, both residents of the said town.
