TWO teenagers were killed and one was critically injured after their motorcycle collided with a speeding truck along the national highway in Carigara, Leyte Thursday afternoon, July 4.

Authorities identified the victims as Reymart Rance Brun, 15, driver of the motorcycle, and Romy Brigania Remedio, 16, one of the passengers.

They were declared dead on arrival at the Carigara District Hospital by the attending doctor, Carigara Municipal Police said.

The other backrider, Joanna Redelia, 15, was referred to Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center in Tacloban City for further medical treatment.

Initial investigation disclosed that at around 5:00 p.m. Thursday, the teenagers were on board the motorcycle traveling to Tunga town.

Upon reaching the national road of Barangay Rizal, Brun overtook another vehicle and encroached the opposite lane, on which a utility vehicle Fuso Canter driven by Joy Magallanes, 31, was traveling.

The impact threw the teenagers off the motorcycle. (Ronald O. Reyes/SunStar Philippines)
