Barangay captain, farmer shot dead

A BARANGAY captain and a farmer were found dead in separate shooting incidents in Las Navas, Northern Samar and Sogod, Southern Leyte Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

Nilo Loyugoy, 53, and barangay captain of Victory in Las Navas town, was shot and killed by five suspected gunmen around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said a 48-year-old farmer was gunned down by two unidentified suspects in Barangay Pancho Villa, Sogod.

The victim, Jaime Sayaboc Hinay, was feeding his hogs when he was shot around 8:10 a.m. Wednesday.
