POLICE, together with the personnel of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), rescued two persons floating in the sea with their capsized motorboat off Sitio Talugaan, Capul, Northern Samar on Monday, December 6, 2021.

Staff Sgt. Joey Magloyuan, under the supervision of Lieutenant Eliezer Arancillo Jr., identified the rescued persons as Joey Devara, 58, construction worker, and a 13-year-old minor, both residents of Sitio Barayong in Barangay Landusan, Capul.

Initial investigation revealed that the motorboat departed from San Isidro town around 1 p.m. Monday and was headed to Capul when bad weather conditions caused its engine to malfunction. The boat then sank.

Police and MDRRMO personnel arrived at the scene following a report from a concerned citizen.

“Your quick response definitely saved the lives of the two personalities needing help. Thank you for a job well done,” said Brigadier General Rommel Bernardo Cabagnot, police regional director, as he lauded the prompt action of the responding personnel of Capul Municipal Police Station.
