Government worker nabbed over shabu in Tacloban

JOINT police operatives arrested a 39-year-old government worker during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Utap, Tacloban City Saturday, October 9, 2021.

The suspect was identified as Ryan Ogsimer, a resident of the city, and listed as a high-value individual.

Authorities confiscated the suspect’s possession and control a sachet believed to be containing shabu, as a subject of sale, and seven other sachets containing suspected shabu, together with the buy-bust money and other personal items and drug paraphernalia.

The recovered drug items have an estimated market of P30,000 and an estimated weight of more or less 3 grams, according to the police.

The operatives were from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit led by Major Gaylord Pagala and Tacloban City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Lieutenant Angelo Leo Silvestrece, under the direct supervision of Major Rolando Isidoro, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
