'Grudge' leads to shooting of Leyte village captain

A PERSONAL grudge has led to the shooting of a barangay captain in Abuyog, Leyte, police said on Tuesday, March 3.

Julian Saldua, 47, barangay captain of Canmarating, Abuyog, was jogging around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday when two men on board a motorcycle appeared and shot him.

Saldua, despite being hit in the different parts of his body, was able to retaliate using his caliber .45 pistol, prompting the gunmen to flee.

Police identified the suspects as certain Vincent Tisbe, a former cop, and Boboy Villote, both of legal age and residents of Barangay Canmarating.

Responding unit from Abuyog Municipal Police Station, led by Captain Antonio Angcay Jr., recovered from the crime scene two empty shells for caliber .45 pistol.
