PDEA, PNP dismantle ‘drug den’ in Calbayog; 7 arrested

A JOINT operation between the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) resulted to the arrest of seven suspected drug personalities and the dismantling of an alleged drug den in Calbayog City.

Authorities identified the suspects as Marvin Catamora, 32; Lina Salurio, 50; Manilyn Sarmiento, 30; Gregorio Catamora, 35; Ronaldo Ompad, 39; George Dimakiling, 35; and Marvy Catamora, 22.

During the buy-bust operation last January 26 at Purok 3, Brgy. Obrero in the City, the police and anti-drug elements confiscated six pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” weighing MOL 15.0 grams with an estimated market value of P102,000.

Also found were various drug paraphernalia and one unit cal. 45 pistol with seven live ammunition.

The suspects are now temporarily detained at Calbayog City Police Station’s lock-up facility.

They will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 6 (Maintenance of Drug Den), Section 7 (Employees, visitors of drug den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of RA 9165 and violation of RA 10591.
