POLICE are conducting a manhunt operation against a person deprived of liberty (PDL) who bolted out from the Northern Samar Provincial Jail in Bobon town Saturday, July 11, 2020.

The inmate was identified as Rosendo Fernandez, 29, married, and a resident of Barangay Balat-balud, Bobon.

Fernandez has pending cases for violation of Republic Act 6539 or Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972, as amended and murder.

In an initial investigation, police said the PDL escaped between 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.

He passed through a destroyed ceiling and jumped outside his cell without being noticed by the duty jail guards.

The PDL scaled the high concrete fence with the support of a coconut tree and cut the barbed wire before making his way out, police said in a report.

Police are investigating the incident.
