THE death of two female minors who were found dead in a hilly portion of a village in Calbayog City, Samar remains under investigation, police said.

Police Superintendent Ma Bella Rentuaya, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas, said the bodies of the minors, ages 6 and 16, were found by the victims' grandfather on February 28.

The bodies were already in a state of decomposition.

Initial investigation showed the two siblings went to their grandfather's house to pay a visit on February 23. They went home the next day, around 9 a.m., the grandfather said.

The victims' mother, however, was worried, saying it has been four days since the two left their house. They never returned since then.

The mother then decided to go to the grandfather's house to fetch her daughters, but the latter told her that the two minors left for home on February 24.

Rentuaya said they are not yet done with their investigation.
