Riding-in-tandem strikes anew, kills 54-year-old worker

MOTORCYCLE riding gunmen attacked anew in Calbayog City, Samar, killing a 54-year-old private worker Monday, April 29.

The shooting incident happened around 5:35 p.m. at P-1, Barangay Payahan, Calbayog City.

Responding policemen identified the victim as Gregorio Madularia, married and resident of Barangay Payahan.

Initial investigation revealed that Madularia was standing in front of the evacuation building when the assailants appeared and shot him on his chest, causing his instantaneous death.

Calbayog police recovered from the crime scene one piece of fired cartridge case of caliber .45 pistol.

Police are investigating on the motive in the shooting.

On April 21, unidentified gunmen also killed Rolando Wahingon and seriously injured another person.

The victims were onboard an improvised motorcycle locally known as “habal-habal” along the boundaries of Barangays Alibaba and Villahermosa when the shooting happened.

Wahingon’s murder was the fourth shooting incident in a span of seven days, from April 15 to 21, said a report from Calbayog Journal.com. (SunStar Philippines)
