GABRIELLE Camille Basiano, a 21-year-old model and beauty queen from Tacloban City, is set to conquer the global stage through the first Ambassador and Ambassadress of the World-Philippines 2019.

“Ambassador of the World - Philippines is simply nerve-racking and exciting. This is my first time to join a competition wherein one’s pageantry experience and modeling skills will be tested,” said Basiano who was the Top 15 finisher in the Ms. Earth Philippines 2018.

A fourth-year college student of Asian Development Foundation College, Basiano is taking up Bachelor of Science in Tourism.

“I want to be a flight attendant and build my own business. And of course, I want to represent the Philippines in an international pageant,” Basiano told SunStar Philippines as she revealed her long term goal.

In between her studies, Basiano dabbled in hosting jobs and modeling stints.

“I learned that we need to accept our differences in order to love ourselves. Because we are unique and we are beautiful in our own way,” said the 5’9 stunner, recalling her experience during the Miss Earth 2018.

“My advocacy is beauty and unity in diversity. It is about seeing and appreciating our cultural, physical and other differences. And using it to empower one another,” added Basiano who was crowned Miss Asian Development Foundation College at 17.

Her mantra is “Embracing my imperfections.”

In 2017, Basiano was chosen as Mutya ng Prisaa (Private Schools Athletic Association) Region 8 and 3rd Runner up in the Mutya ng Prisaa Nationals.

She was also adjudged as Miss Silka Leyte 2017 and Robinsons Tacloban Supermodel 2017
