Tacloban doctor with Covid-19 dies

A 40-YEAR-OLD doctor died on Sunday, January 31, 2021, after battling with coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Tacloban City.

As of Monday, February 1, the total Covid-related deaths in Eastern Visayas reached 180 (1.28 percent).

According to the regional health department, the region's total number of Covid-19 cases is now at 14,081, following the 54 new cases recorded in one Covid-19 laboratory in the region.

Of the 448 laboratory results released by the Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory, 390 are negative and 58 are positive, with 54 new cases and four re-swabs for Covid-19.

The 54 new confirmed cases are from Tacloban City (10), Abuyog (5), Alangalang (2), Dulag (1), Isabel (6), Palo (3), Palompon (3), Pastrana (2), Sta. Fe (1), Tabango (6), Tanauan (6), Tolosa (1), Tunga (5), Borongan City (2) and Basey (1).

As of Monday, the total number of Covid-19 recoveries in the region is at 13,264 (94.20 percent), while the total active cases is at 637 (4.52 percent). (SunStar Philippines)
