A 32-YEAR-OLD man who was applying for police clearance in Palompon, Leyte was arrested after authorities found that he had a standing warrant of arrest for frustrated homicide.

Personnel of Palompon Municipal Police Station said Jose Naul, with a live-in partner and a resident of the town, had a warrant issued by Eprhem Suarez Abasdo, executive judge of Regional Trial Court-Branch 18 in Hilongos, Leyte dated March 18, 2015, with bail at P60,000.

Naul was arrested and was accompanied to the police station for documentation on June 28, 2022.

“With our National Police Clearance system, tracking down wanted personalities nationwide was made a lot easier,” said Brigadier General Bernard Banac, police regional director, on the arrest of Naul.

“It is a vital tool in the campaign against most wanted persons, “he added.

A National Police Clearance is a document that serves as a background check by the police and lists the criminal or derogatory records that the holder may have.

“It is a comprehensive, fast, convenient, and reliable system for the issuance of Police Clearance nationwide,” Banac said. (SunStar Philippines)
