International jetski race slated in Tacloban

JETSKI enthusiasts around the country and abroad will compete anew for this year’s Tacloban International Jetski Race second leg on June 13 to 15.

Enzo Pontino, the youngest racer from General Santos City who won in the 2018 Novice Ski Lites division, is expected to participate in the competition, according to Henry James Roca of the City Information Office.

Jetski racers, from 13 years old and above, can join provided all requirements are met.

Categories for the race include Novice 2 Stroke Mod Lites, Novice Ski Limited, Novice Ski Stock, Amateur Ski GP, Amateur Ski Stock, Novice Women's Ski Limited, Pro/Am Runabout Open, Beginners Runabout Stock, Novice Runabout Stock, Novice Runabout Stock 1100, Novice Runabout Limited, Amateur Runabout Limited, Amateur Runabout Stock, and Novice Runabout 1100 Limited.

Also, Novice Women's Runabout Limited, Masters Runabout Limited, 2 Stroke Open Runabout and Expert Ski 2 Stroke Open.

The Tacloban jetski board also allowed Dual Cooling Modifications for these categories, it said.

While Yamaha EXR model skis are also considered for the Runabout 1100 categories.

Singapore-based international jetski race official Justin Lee will direct the competition.

The race will be held along the shores of Patio Victoria Baluarte in Barangay San Jose. (SunStar Philippines)
